Product Overview
The TrueCare Gravity Feed Metal Detector (also called a free-fall or drop-through metal detector) inspects dry, free-flowing bulk products as they fall through a vertical pipe. The TMD-GF series, with throat sizes from 70 to 200 mm, detects ferrous metal down to 0.5 mm, non-ferrous to 0.7 mm and stainless steel to 1.0 mm (70 mm model), and a high-speed diverter flap rejects contaminated material with minimal product loss. Product-contact parts are SS316, and the digital ARM controller filters out vibration and product effect for stable detection. Typical applications include flour, sugar, spices, milk powder, grains, nuts, APIs, excipients and plastic pellets before moulding.

Applications
A gravity-fed metal detector (also known as a gravity-fall or free-fall metal detector) is specifically designed to inspect dry, free-flowing bulk powders, granules, and small solids as they fall vertically through a pipe or chute under the force of gravity.

- Tablets & Capsules: Passing intermediate granules or finished pills through drop-through units before final blister packing.
- Plastic & Chemical Manufacturing:
- Plastic Pellets & Regrind: Checking plastic granules, resins, and recycled polymer flakes before they enter injection moulding or extrusion machines to protect expensive screws and barrels from damage.
